Ellison Family
Are you sure you are ready?
So you wanna know more about where I came from? Well there's lots to say, but only so much can be repeated online. Let's start with the immediate family. My mom & dad, brothers & sisters. I have an older brother, Brent, and a sister on each side, Leslie is older and Lauren is younger.

From the times I can remember, we used to live in a house near my old Indian Springs Elementary School near Blountville, TN. It was about my 6th birthday (I think) that we moved a tad closer to Kingsport, but really close to the Warriors Path State Park. It was from there that I took off to college at age 17, and since then I've been making my own way through Virginia and now into Raleigh, North Carolina. It was at the point of moving to college that my parents were divorced and my dad has since remarried.

Both of my parents have moved from the house they were in at the time I left for college. My dad lives close to the State Park and my mom lives a few minutes away, closer to Kingsport. With my lifestyle being as busy as it is, it is the rare occasion that I get to make it home to visit them or the rest of the family.

My brother currently works in Houston, Texas for a small Chemical Engineering firm called Matrix. Leslie has her Pharmacists degree and is working in Atlanta, Georgia. Lauren has just recently graduated college with her Applied Sciences degree, specializing in being an X-Ray Technician and she's currently living in Grey, Tennesse with plans on moving to Chatanooga, TN sometime in the future.

Family 2 Grandmother
Stepping a bit further towards the roots of the tree, I have my grandmother. She is the only grandparent that I really got the chance to know. My mom's parents died when I was real young and my granddad on my dad's side of the family passed away early on in my life. I remember meeting all of them at some point, but those images are not very clear and very few. I'll try to get some more pictures of them so that I'll have something to show my children one day.

Coming back to my parent's level and sliding a bit sideways, we have my aunts and uncles. Unique people, all of them. On my dad's side of the family we have his brothers and sisters. He was in a family of 4: Jenny, my dad, Daryl and Kathy. Daryl lives in Talahasee, Florida, Kathy is in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Jenny is in Johnson City, Tennessee.

My mom came from a smaller family, just her and her sister, Jackie. Jackie lives in the Tampa area in Florida. I don't have many pictures of them. Only ones from recent gatherings, namely Lauren's wedding. I'll show ya what I do have.

Jim and Karen Malpas Jim and Karen Malpas Karen Malpas family5.jpg brandonkristen.jpg kristenbrandon.jpg brandonkristenbren.jpg cousins1.jpg ellisons.jpg beau.jpg
Stepping a bit away from the roots and looking out at the branches, we have my cousins. Crazy. All of them. (And I mean that in the nicest way!) You just can't have Ellison blood an consider yourself to be perfectly sane. Some are better at hiding it than others, but it's always there.

From my dad's side we have Karen who is Jenny's daughter. She's married to Jim Malpas and she teaches for a living. (Brave one!) Then there's Wesley, Kristen and Eric from Kathy and Fred's family. I remember playing games and arguing with Wesley at my Grandmother's house a long time ago. Kristen was and will always be ticklish and giggly. There's no changing her. Eric has always been the young one, but he's catching up with the rest somehow. He's got us all beat on height, so we have to treat him nicely. Eric, Wesley and Kristen are all involved with ice skating in some form or another, Kristen does Figure Skating where the boys choose to get a little more violent with some hockey action. From Daryl's side there's Bryan, Robin, April and Alanda. Bryan I remember as being older than me, so we never really talked much. Robin is also older, but closer to my age, so she picks on me for it. April and Alanda I never really talked with much. Just been a distant side of the family I suppose. And now with almost all of them married, they have some pretty busy lives. Robin made the mistake of moving close to me, so she'll be hearing from me more...

On my mom's side, we have my cousin Beau who grew up near me. We probably had as many arguments as we did conversations, but somehow we ended up getting along. I guess we just had pretty different interests, but tried to find a way to make it work together. He's now married and has a family in South Carolina, I believe. I have a picture of him with his wife and daughter at the end of the set.

And all the way at the very leaves of the tree, we have the ever growing group of nieces and nephews. It'll be a while before I do my share in adding any leaves to the family tree. But that's really ok! I have my sister's daughter Danielle to spoil and the other cousin's children to avoid. :) No, really April, I'll babysit sometime. I'll just have to get a big bottle of Advil! Of course, Uncle Fred is always more than willing to help corrupt any children in the world. He just has a way with them that screams "Get them away from him!" (And I mean that in the nicest way possible!)

So here's some photos from the recent reunion. Mckenzie (how do you spell that?) and Bishop are April's children and Danielle is Leslie's. I wish I could find that picture of Beau's daughter...

Alright... So pets don't really belong on the family tree. But Schmoo is just TOO big to be considered a normal pet. So here he is in all his glory as a cat. There's more info on him elsewhere on the site, but I'll let you find that for yourself!
