Atlanta again! This time, no speeding ticket for 27 over. I
took my time getting there. Watched The Green Mile on the way down. That movie just
leaves you in a weird mood. You're not sure what to feel after that movie. Such an
amazing movie though... But anyway, the drive was lovely. Several accidents and much
traffic. I arrived late on Tuesday, just in time to clean up and crawl into bed.
The next few days were fun and exciting. There was the feasting upon much home-cooked food and then the traditional lounge around and do very little for hours afterwards. Dad and Carol were in town, Mike and Lauren as well. Brent, as always, found some reason not to join us for the holiday. One of these days we're going to schedule Christmas in Texas and see how he likes it! Friday was a special day for Danielle. She turned 3 years old and is really starting to understand what birthdays are all about. PRESENTS! Well, that and some cake and ice cream. There was a party for the birthday girl with different parents and children from around the neighborhood stopping by. Danielle played with each gift for a short time and then moved on to the next one. Children always love what they have, unless someone else is holding something... Then it's "I want that!" and their current gift just isn't good enough anymore. I'm pretty sure she has enough toys to last her until she's graduating college, but I don't think my sister will stop giving her gifts every holiday. After all the festivities, it was time to put Brandon to work. There was the ever-present computer services needed as well as some general holiday stuff. Since Thanksgiving was over, it was time to pull out the Christmas decorations! Luckily I managed to dodge most of the Christmas decorating by going out for a game of golf with the guys. It turned pretty dark on us for the last few holes, but it was still better than putting up decorations. I even think I lost a dozen golf balls on that course in the span of those 18 holes, but it was STILL better than putting up decorations. :)

Now our family does not assemble this much this often. For most holidays,
we are divided between 2 or 3 states, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas (Brent rarely makes it home). Lauren
will soon be moving to Chatanooga, TN which will make things even more interesting. She'll be in the prime
"middle ground" for everyone to visit, but probably with the smallest space to cram everyone together. We will
have the joy of helping her move this March. I need to find some illness to keep me in Raleigh that weekend...
Since we rarely get together, it was a prime picture taking event. I'm still working on this whole 'photography' thing, but since I had the most expensive camera, it fell to me to figure out how to take the best pictures. The problem with the Ellison family is that once we get started laughing, we just cannot stop. Everyone in our family is a comedian-wanna-be, inlcuding Danielle. You'll notice someone in every photo that looks like they are about to crack up. It's not just coincidence.
