Home for the holidays! I left Friday night and arrived in Kingsport
without difficulty. I took the opportunity to hang with DJ the same night... he was busy the rest of the
week, take the opportunities as the come. It was a good visit with him and Paul and I'm sure
I'll see him again in the upcoming months.
I spent the majority of the time around my mom's house, we put up some Christmas lights and other decorations. Brent came into town on Sunday and helped with the chores. We had a Chrimas Eve dinner together and then went out to see the lights on the Bristol Raceway & Dragway. On Christmas day Brent and I took mom out to see the lowered Holston Lake levels. While we were out, it started snowing, making it look beautiful. It had been a while since I had had a White Christmas. He and I left after opening gifts and saying our goodbyes. He folllowed me to Raleigh and then out to the Outer Banks.

I also spent some time with my dad. He and Carol hosted a small family gathering with
Karen & Jim & the triplets coming into town as well as some of Carol's family. Carol's mother passed on a few days
before, so spirits were not the best, but at least everyone was able to be there to be with her. The viewing took
place on Chrismas Eve, I believe. There was going to be a wedding in the family, but it was postponed until after the
Holidays.
I got Dad hooked on Halo on the Xbox. When I wasn't around, he and Brent played a bit and I took my turn when I showed up. We didn't play enough to finish the game, but it was fun to hang out. I arrived on Christmas morning to do the gift opening and then breakfast. Brent and I said our goodbyes and then headed over to mom's to finish the gift opening and head out.

These are pictures taken of the Holston River when they lowered it for repairs on the
dam on Fort Henry Drive. It had started snowing earlier in the morning, so it made for beautiful scenery and a
relaxing part of the day.
