Snowfall on the Lake
     January 3rd -4th, 2002
Snow does not happen often around the Triangle. Winter is here for 3 months, but the only thing that brings is some cold spells and ocassionally some nice cold rain. My take on it is that if it is going to get cold, it might as well get cold enough to snow! I do not think it happens often enough, but others would say that it happens too often. People are in such a rush to get to Spring and then to Summer, but when those seasons arrive, they end up sitting inside their houses with the A.C. on trying to keep the heat out! Some people are never happy! I love snow and it is best when you end up stuck at home for a few days because there is too much snow to bother trying to dig the car out. (Being unable to make it to work is also a nice feeling!) The best time of the snowfall is just before the plows and the people come out to move it out of their way. The undisturbed layer of white just resting like a blanket over everything is such an awesome sight. Alan and I took a quick hike on Lake Johnson to enjoy the snowfall. We reached the shelter and I took out the camera to get a few photos of the snow in action.
