One of the benefits (if you want to call it that) of the new job at Broadcom is
a yearly sales conference. This year it was held at the Laguna Cliffs resort about 45 minutes South of Irvine.
I guess it changes places every year or so. The conference runs Sunday through Friday and takes up most of
every waking moment during the week. Well Alecia had never been to California since starting college so she
decided to take a vacation day and we travelled down to Cali a few days early. We hooked up with Alecia's friend
Sean and crashed at his apartment for the weekend. We took a day to hit Disneyland!
We hit as many rides as we could in the time we had. It was not too crowded, but the lines started building up as it got later in the day. Friday evening is evidently when a bunch of locals with season tickets show up to hit the rides. Sean and I went to hit Space Mountain as our finale while Alecia went shopping for some warmer clothes to wear. I must say that the revised Space Mountain kicks ass. It is one of the smoothest & fastest rides I have been on. I wish I had known that earlier in the day, I probably would have just rode it over and over.

More photos! These are from the garden of the Getty Center. I particularly liked
the garden because it has that timeless quality about it. Furniture and art styles come and go, but flowers are always
flowers. Sure, you can genetically engineer new ones, but just the array of colors in a garden makes it beautiful. I loved
the arrangement of this garden as a semi-maze with a nice pool at the bottom. This is a most excellent design.

And of course, what trip to Cali would be complete without the convertible
to cruise around in?!? But this time it SUCKED because the weather just would not cooperate. I was
actually a little disappointed in the Mustang. It had power, but it was not very quick on the acceleration,
nor was it all that sleek on the interior. It was still fun to have the top down for a few hours, even
if you had to crank up the heat to compensate.
